What a stylish way to re-purpose tires! These bags are attractive and functional. The bag measures approx. 14" across at it's widest point, and is 10" deep. There is a large band of hemp near the top of the bag and 2 pockets on the outside of the bag (one on either side). The inside of the bag is black cotton, with one main compartment, one zippered pocket measuring 5"x6". On the other side is a pocket running the length of the bag, a pocket for a wallet or cell phone and 3 tiered pockets to put your plastic. The double handles measure 10" from bag to top of straps and they are covered in sturdy nylon. Some bags have tread, some have the manufacturers name or number (think Goodyear) but all are cute. At the Fair Trade Co-op in Nepal where these bags (and other wonderful items are made) they began burning tires across the road. Instead of suffering the smell and health consequences they decided to repurpose these durable rubber tires instead and give them new life. Fun, Funky, Functional and Fair Trade!
